“ Would be a 5 star easily, BUT we didn't get everything on the $77.99 menu. No jook, no kaesung namul, no jangeo gui, no jeon. Also, the Royal sinseonllo was supposed to have beef but it did not. That's 4 things missing from the most expensive menu! However, most of the food we had was delicious. The hot tea was great, light pink in color. We were first served the steamed pork which was served with kimchi and radish. It was great! Next were the sea scallops which were absolutely exquisite. One of the best bites of the night. Their speciality bossam kimchi was amazing, effervescent and fresh. Loved it so much, one of the best kimchis I've had. The jelly fish salad was not great... tasted like a farm? The thousand year egg was good though, but the beef on the plate was flavorless. It was served with a mini piece of meat which I'm not sure what it was, but also flavorless. Royal sinseonllo was delicious, a very light veggie broth with two little veggie dumplings. Black cod was another highlight. The egg battered prawn was ok :) Gujeolpan was made table side, super yummy! It's what comes to mind when I think of Korean royal court cuisine. The grilled Galbi short rib was to die for. Melted in your mouth! We opted for the doenjang jjigae and scorched rice "soup" which were amazing as well. The meal was finished with a traditional Korean cookie, yakgwa, and eumryo punch. That cookie... amazing! ”
“ Took photos for a grandma's 100th birthday here and it was such a smooth experience. Valet parking provided outside. It was a buffet and the food was so good. Full service provided. ”
“ Amazing food, excellent service/ great private dining rooms! Easy valet parking! Was a great time celebrating a birthday! ”
“ I love Yong Su San! What an experience every time I go there with my family, who often craves the food. We get the course meal, Hyang Table menu, which is brought out quickly and in a specific order. The course meal starts with jook, we've had rice or pumpkin, the cinnamon drink served at the end of dinner is delicious. The ambiance is excellent, you are seated in either a private room or a smaller dinning hall. Top notch h food and experience. ”
“ 4.5/5 stars - Came here on a Sunday evening and there was no wait. This spot is unique because it offers Hanjeonsik (Korean traditional course meal). We each chose the $72.99 course meal. It was so fun to try a variety of different dishes! My fave was the galbijjim. It was so flavorful and tender and just perfect! I also really enjoyed the bossam - super tender and fatty. The sea scallops and the eel were also tender and very enjoyable. The black cod was crazy tender, but had a ton of bones in it. I liked trying the gujeolpan (kind of like crepes). The presentation was beautiful, but taste-wise wasn't super impressed. I could barely taste any of the filling. Everything else was quite enjoyable. Service was great. Our waitress showed us how to eat certain dishes and even put the gujeolpan together for us. My least fave was probs the cabbage kimchi. It was too spicy, and I didn't see any seafood in it. Overall, we enjoyed the food and experience here! It's pricey, but great for special occasions. ”
“ Celebrated my mother's 80th birthday here and we couldn't have chosen a better restaurant. Having our own perfectly sized room for our group of 12 was so intimate and so amazing especially when my son broke out in dance. Haha! So fun! The food was coursed and everything was delicious. You can tell they really pay attention to details in the kitchen. And when we realized we forgot the candles for our cake they had a drawer full of candles to save the day. Thank you Yong Su San for being the perfect place for our Korean family's special celebration. ”
“ Yong Su San has its own parking 2 dollars for lunch 3 dollars for dinner. The restaurant has a lot of small and large rooms. We went with three people and ordered a Fix Price multi course meal. Cost is about 71 a person. You will need to come hungry and with an open mind. The food kept on coming We had fish shellfish vegetables kimchi each dish better. Then the last A very unique experience. Food is available also alacarte ”
“ My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner and we got the $72pp 8-9 course meal. Food: The meals were all very delicious and, as someone who isn't Korean, it lets you try a wide variety of different dishes you otherwise wouldn't have ordered. My favorites were the marinated tender short rib and the soup! I only wish the scallop skewers and fish came out hot (it had cooled down by the time she served it to us). Service: We were served by one lady who only spoke in Korean with us because my boyfriend ordered in Korean. The courses came out promptly and she was attentive in making sure our waters were always filled and we never needed to press on the service button. Ambiance: It is definitely a fancier place to get Korean food relative to other places in LA. The tables are all in smaller rooms to give you privacy with your party, which I liked. The party next door had a huge group of adults who were drinking and talking loudly, making the space feel more casual. We went on a Saturday evening, so maybe it was just busier and attracted larger parties then. Parking: It's LA-- and it's Koreatown. Expect to leave your car with the valet ($4) or spend too long attempting to find street parking. ”
“ I recently dined at this upscale and authentic Korean restaurant that showcased a variety of classic Korean dishes. The standout dishes were the steamed tender braised beef and the grilled eel. The braised beef looks like it's melt-in-your-mouth tender and the flavorful sauce apparently complements the dish perfectly per my meat-eating family. The grilled eel was cooked to perfection and had an incredibly delicious and smoky flavor. And what's a family gathering without a little privacy? This restaurant has got that covered too, with private dining rooms that'll make you feel like royalty. No more shouting over the background noise to catch up with your cousin you haven't seen in years. Now you can catch up in peace, while feasting on some of the best Korean food around. The ambiance is traditional yet elegant, and the service is top-notch, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are ready to take your orders and answer any questions. ”
